Three of us stayed at this hotel the night before we started the C2C Bike Ride. It was an ideal location. We had a double and a single room which were both reasonable value. There was plenty of room for our support car in the car park and we could store our bikes inside in a secure room. All the staff were very friendly and chatty. The bed was comfy and the en-suite bathroom large and decent shower. Breakfast wasn’t a fancy affair but had all you needed to set you up for a day on a bike. Cereals, muesli, juice, toast and cooked breakfast cooked fresh not a buffet. No issues with ordering random combinations rather than a full English eg scrambled eggs. My only bit of constructive feedback would be to have a larger toaster or more than one as that did cause a bit of queue. There is a bar at the hotel with an outside terrace.you could also get evening meal at the hotel but we walked down into the town center - about 10 mins - and went to a good Italian restaurant. It’s a very quick cycle downhill to the harbour to start in the morning and if you have a support vehicle there were places to park near the start of the C2C.

Decent hotel, staff are amazing and go the further mile, big group of us stayed to start the C2C, Whitehaven is an experience for a night out, can’t rate the staff highly enough, big car park and close to all you need, good food and drinks on offer

We have just returned from an excellent 4 nights stay at this hotel and can't fault it. We were greeted warmly by Rebecca and given a room just up stairs from reception. It had two single comfortable beds, tea and coffee making facilities and a nice bathroom with shower over the bath. Hot water was plentiful in the mornings and the towels were large and fluffy . Breakfast had lots of choice from juice, cereal, toast and a full English breakfast. All the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Parking is free in the grounds. The area is quiet, but there is a shopping area about 5 minutes away with supermarkets and fast food outlets. The journey into town was about 10 minutes - although we regularly took the wrong turns round the one way system, so took us a little longer. There are numerous car parks round the harbour.

Stayed here whilst viewing properties to move to in Whitehaven. Excellent stay, friendly helpful staff, comfortable room and bed all lovely and clean. Food cooked so well best roast dinners ever had in a restaurant definitely home cooked. Will definitely call in when I move to the area soon. Thanks for all the area advice too x

Great venue for family get together. Good food, comfortable room. Super staff. Very good breakfast. Very well placed to explore Whitehaven and the Western Lake District. We have stayed here before and will again. Nice to see a hotel with ample car parking. We had an accessible room although we didn't ask for one.
