This was the best bed and breakfast I’ve ever stayed at! We went for a quick overnight for our anniversary and it was so relaxing. Meg is an excellent host and everything exceeded expectations

I was looking for a place to stay while my husband and I were visiting my family for Thanksgiving and found May River Major while Googling. Previously I have stayed at the Bluffton Inn (very nice!) and Palmetto Bluffs (a little too much for me). May River Manor is my new favorite! The hospitality was wonderful. We were staying during a holiday but the whole staff went out of their way to be kind and accommodating. Every evening when we came back from visiting family there was a delicious snack/cheese board waiting for us. We got to hang out by the wood-burning fireplace on chilly mornings and evenings. It felt like being at home. The room we stayed in was spacious, comfortable, impeccably clean, and well-appointed. The shower was 10/10! So luxe. Would definitely recommend May River Manor and we look forward to staying again.

Our time at May River Manor was nothing shy of perfect and we know this property will hold a piece of our hearts for years to come. Meg is a gem and makes you feel like you’re at home, noticing details before you even realize there’s a need, all while connecting with you like you’re an old friend! The property is quiet and yet full of so much life- truly, whatever you choose to make of it. There’s so much to explore locally, but we found ourselves not interested in leaving the property. Relaxing fireside or poolside was magical all on its own. If the lowcountry is special to you, like it is to us, you will fall in love. In addition to the property itself, the staff go above and beyond to make the meals served an incredible experience (and truly delicious). Between the breakfast served each morning, the perfectly curated coffee, and the charcuterie and wine to enjoy every evening, you couldn’t ask for better. We can’t wait to return, as this is the kind of place you miss before you’ve even left!

I highly recommend May River Manor. They provide stellar guest service. They send a text a few days before your stay to best learn about your unique needs and interests. In particular, Meg James was 24/7 available by text throughout my stay. She was able to efficiently and proactively make arrangements for items far out of the scope of my stay such as for a local tailor. May River Manor's guest service exceeded that I have experienced anywhere else.

We love May River Manor ??. We have stayed here 3 times. Our time there is always fabulous! The Manor is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast is exceptional! We celebrated my mother’s 90 th birthday there with family. They helped plan a birthday menu and everything was amazing! Thank you May River Manor for a beautiful 90th birthday celebration that our family will always cherish! Thank you Meg . You and May River Manor are exceptional in every way!

We travel twice yearly between Naples Florida and New England. The May River Manor is the highlight of our trip. No I-95 snowbird should miss the chance to enjoy the pleasures of this unique bed and (delicious) breakfast. Meet Meg, have breakfast with the owner, swim in the saltwater pool and figure out how to extend your stay for a second day.

I recently celebrated my dad's 87th birthday at the Manor, and it was fantastic! From the warm welcome to the beautiful setting, everything felt perfect. The attention to detail made our family gathering smooth and enjoyable. It was clear our host, Meg and her team, genuinely cared about making our stay and party day special. I highly recommend the Manor for any stay and event. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

I had such a wonderful stay at this beautifully renovated Southern mansion. From the moment I arrived, the experience was exceptional. The room was spacious, comfortable, and full of charm. Breakfast each morning was absolutely incredible, and the staff and host could not have been more accommodating. The property itself is stunning, with an amazing pool and outdoor space that would be perfect for a private party or even hosting a whole family gathering. Its location is also ideal—just minutes from downtown Bluffton and all the great restaurants. I can’t recommend this gem enough!
