One of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, the entire team made us feel so welcomed and genuinely cared for — every single staff member was warm, friendly, and attentive. The food deserves a special mention: absolutely incredible. The chef is truly top-tier — 10/10. Every meal was beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and thoughtfully presented. You can tell there’s real passion behind the cuisine. What made this stay truly special was the connection to nature. Waking up surrounded by wildlife, seeing animals around the property, and being immersed in pure natural beauty for two days was beyond magical. It was peaceful, grounding, and unforgettable. If you’re looking for an exceptional safari experience with outstanding food, incredible service, and a deep connection to nature, Kotiyagala is the place. I can’t recommend it enough — I will definitely be back.

?? Peaceful Luxury in Nature We had a wonderful stay at Kotiyagala Luxury Villas. The villas are spacious, clean, and beautifully designed, offering complete privacy in a calm natural setting. The surroundings are incredibly peaceful, perfect for switching off and relaxing. The staff were warm, attentive, and always willing to help, making us feel truly welcome throughout our stay. Mornings were serene, and evenings were magical under the stars. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet, luxurious retreat close to nature. ?????

This is one place along Yala’s coastline that truly takes your breath away. The beach-facing villa we stayed in offered a sweeping, panoramic view of the rugged shoreline and the ever-changing ocean beyond. On a clear day, the Little Basses Reef Lighthouse—built in 1878 and still faithfully standing guard—can be seen some 7 km offshore, a quiet marvel on the horizon. Time seems to slow here. Hours can be happily spent watching the sky shift its colours and the ocean change its moods. On a full-moon night, with silver light dancing across the water, the atmosphere gently draws you into calm reflection. For a boutique lodge still in its startup phase, and yet to be fully operational, we were not disappointed. Each villa comes with its own plunge pool, which is generously sized—large enough for a refreshing swim rather than just a quick dip. The staff cared for us at every turn. Special thanks are due to Nimal, Chef Shehan and his assistant Dilum for wonderful lagoon crab, soups, salads etc; stewards Nuwan, Supun, and Nilukshan; and Oshen from housekeeping, amongst many others who contributed quietly to our stay.
