The tented accommodation was great, quirky showers, electric blankets, decks with stunning views made for a fantastic experience. The food was excellent, the staff so helpful and atmosphere very relaxing. The game drives were brilliant, Lenny was funny and informative- and we saw everything we hoped for. And the campfire and drinks after each drive were the icing on the cake.

I absolutely loved this place, just how I imagined a safari should be. We had two drives a day by a very knowledgeable ranger, learnt so much, one at 5.30am then another at 3.30pm. Saw all the animals we wanted to, lions, elephants, rhinos, hippos. The food at the camp was amazing, two lovely swimming pools to get some exercise in when not on a drive, staff were all lovely, had heated blankets which were so cosy, a fire when we arrived back from game drive, all drinks included, you can help yourself. Each individual tent is completely secluded overlooking the park, would go back, like stepping back in time, lovely.

Abbiamo passato tre notti in questo bellissimo lodge nella riserva privata di amakhala in una family tent con le nostre figlie. è stata una esperienza bellissima. Struttura meravigliosa con spazi comuni curatissimi e con vista mozzafiato sulla vallata. Cibo buonissimo e pulizia impeccabile. Tutto lo staff è stato di una tale gentilezza (e pazienza) sia con noi che con le piccole da farci sentire a casa. Le game drive sono state ovviamente il pezzo forte del nostro soggiorno. Siamo riusciti a vedere Leone, elefanti, giraffe, ippopotamo, rinoceronti, ecc. Entrambe le nostre guide, J.P. e Lenny, sono state strepitose. In particolare JP - giovanissimo ma con una grande conoscenza della riserva e degli animali - si è dilungato in dettagli da noi poco noti sugli animali, le loro abitudini e le dinamiche nel parco, mentre Lenny con la sua esperienza di dieci anni - ci ha consentito di vedere da vicinissimo scene mozzafiato come quella di un leone con un facocero nelle sue fauci a distanza di un metro dal veicolo o un gruppo di ghepardi. Ottima struttura per una famiglia alla mia esperienza di Safari.

Wir hatten hier den allertollsten Teil unserer dreiw?chigen Rundreise! Beim Gedanken an diese Erfahrung bekomme ich schon wieder Tr?nen in den Augen, es war alles einfach so besonders! Von der ersten Sekunde an hat man sich so wohl und willkommen gefühlt - also kommt auf jedenfall so früh es geht! Auch wenn unsere Zelte noch nicht bezugsfertig waren, haben wir uns drau?en auf der Terasse aufgehalten und gemütlich etwas gespielt, getrunken und an der Wasserstelle direkt eine Antilope und 2 Warzenschweine getroffen. Im Zelt haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt, es gab einen Turn-Down Service, das Essen und Frühstück mit allen G?sten war sehr gemütlich und lecker, der All-Inclusive Kühlschrank war immer gut befüllt, das Gel?nde sehr sch?n und natürlich, tolles Lagerfeuer mit Wein und Kakao nach der abendlichen Safari, sch?ne Pools, sooo liebes und zuvorkommendes Personal und das allerbeste: Die Safaris!!!! Unser Guide Greg war so lieb und so begeistert von seinem Job und den Tieren! Hat uns bestens informiert, immer l?nger mit uns gefahren als vorgesehen und durch ihn und seinen Eifer haben wir alle besonderen Tiere getroffen!! Wir waren ganz verliebt in ihn!!

What an experience! We were at Woodbury tented camp in Amakhala for one night with safaris in the evening and morning. Our guide was Roxi and she made the entire time there truly brilliant. The camp facilities and staff were exceptional with great service and food included. Roxi was the person who made the actual safaris so good. Her knowledge, experience and even the way she handled the vehicle in very challenging environments made our trips out so memorable. The tent facilities were incredible, including shower and air conditioning. The common area space was really comfortable and cozy with a fire greeting you when returning from a drive. The food was great and plentiful as was the drink. I cannot recommend these people, service and whole experience enough. Five stars !!!

Une adresse vraiment exceptionnelle. Le personnel est aux petits oignons et le service au top. On voit beaucoup d'animaux notamment des rhinocéros, guépards et lions. Notre guide Greg était très connaisseur. Seul bémol: dans la chambre aucune armoire pour mettre ses vêtements. Très bon rapport qualité/prix!

Die Ausfahrten zwei mal t?glich mit dem gro?en Gel?ndewagen sind grandios und der Park bietet deutlich mehr als der Addo. Die Zelte selbst (1-5 hat gute Sicht) sind passend ausgestattet. Die Pools sind kühl und sauber und laden über Tag zum relaxen ein. Gegessen und getrunken wird gemeinsam an langen Tischen. So kommt man wunderbar ins Gespr?ch. Die Küchenleistung ist allenfalls mittelm??ig, aber hierher f?hrt man nicht wegen des Essens. Erw?genswert ist auch die gute Atmosph?re und die sehr freundlichen Menschen im Service. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

We had a wonderful family vacation. Great place to celebrate the New Year. Very comfortable accommodation, wonderful service and friendly staff. We felt very welcome and nothing was a problem. Loved that all the tents have a gorgeous view to wake up to with wildlife spotting from the deck!! Had great game drives and our guide Greg was very knowledgeable and managed to show us everything we wanted to see except the elusive leopard!!! The scenery at Amakhala is nothing less than spectacular. Extra bonus that there’s no malaria there. We will definitely recommend to friends and return in the future.

Fantastic safari experience
Fantastic camp. The only thing I can complain about is the lunch and dinner. I would appreciate more African food. It was not so much taste and mediocre. We have experienced so much good food on the our trip so we had high expectations on the food here as well.
