Stayed here over the bank holiday weekend whilst visiting family. The room was spotless with a good range of amenities. Excellent location - just a stone’s throw from Carbis Bay and a short drive (or train journey) to the centre of St Ives. Delicious breakfast which was included in the price ?? and the friendliest hosts we’ve met for a long time! David and Jackie really know how to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for their guests. We will definitely be returning!

Great place where to stay. The breakfast was alright. The room was clean though quite a few spider webs by the ceiling window. The pole that we had in the room to open the window was not easy to use and I think was faulty, I’d advise to replace it.
Overall a good stay. The location is good too. A lovely garden which we were lucky enough (due to the good weather) able to use.

The setting.. the staff and the food are just fantastic.. Although we have eaten here many times before i thought it about time to do a review… Myself and my wife have just had the sunday roast .. I had the beef and she had the chicken .. Everything cooked to perfection and too much to eat if im honest. Thank god this place is on our door step because its 5 star and never disappoints ??????

Lovely Easter break! The 'Owl' room was ideal for the four of us, as has bunks for the kids & a fabulous super-king bed.
Superb Breakfasts & Sunday roast served by hosts Dave, Jackie & their team.
5 min drive from St Ives, didn't cause us an issue. This is quite a remote spot so would need a car as not much within walking distance. Excellent base for touring the extreme 'Pointy end'

So far we have visited The Countryman twice and I expect we will be going again whilst we are staying in the area. The service was excellent all smiles on arrival and super efficient. I am gluten free and initially we telephoned to check that they had gf options .On our first visit they were aware and by our second visit we didn’t even need to mention it as the waitress explained in full what I was able to have . First time I had an incredible serving of crispy gluten free fish and chips and didn’t mind my northern request for a portion of gravy. The fish was so tasty and fresh and the batter was crispy and light. My husband enjoyed a wonderful slow cooked beef brisket which was beautifully tasty and tender .On the second visit we sat down to one of the best Sunday lunches we have ever had! I had roast Turkey with fresh tasty vegetables and roast potatoes I missed out on the stuffing and Yorkshire pudding but I am not a fan of them anyway. Instead the chef kindly gave me extra roasties , unfortunately I was just to full to eat them all! My husband had the pork belly again incredibly well cooked but of course he enjoyed the Yorkshire pud and stuffing !!! We would highly recommend a visit here if you are in the area and dogs are welcome in the lounge bar.

It was warm and welcoming although the resident cat did look a little grumpy. The owners reassured us he always looks like that. We ordered the Sunday roasts. My husband chose the pork and I had the roast beef. The meals were lovely. Food came out piping hot which we loved after visiting so many places where meals were just warm. Allergy aware which was great. We never stopped for pudding. The prices are great and staff are friendly.

Jackie and her husband looked after our large group very well. There were 17 of us for evening meal and most of us had 3 courses. Everyone thought food the was lovely served by friendly efficient staff. Its very good value for money, for instance 2 large glasses of white wine 12 pounds, on St Ives harbour front Ive paid that for 1 glass of wine Highly recommend it..go.

Historical property, quiet this time of year (end of Sept) and friendly staff. Great food too. Well worth visiting if you’re in the area! Close to the Tank Museum and good local taxis.

Just recently visited for a family meal, on arrival we we're greeted with a warm welcome, sat and had drinks before our meal, and then we went and sat to have our meal which was out of this world, couldn't fault anything, highly recommended to anyone.

Rooms are clean but a bit sparse. Overpriced for what it was, I won’t be back.
