Nice place but not as good as last year
This was our second visit (one year later). The friendliness of the staff is still good but the food quality and service has deteriorated. Quite a long wait for food. Understandable as they were busy and happy to wait for freshly cooked food. However all three different main courses were dry and overcooked. The pasta with the salmon was just a few rings which hadn't been mixed properly with the sauce.
At breakfast (which was not busy) there was very little fruit juice in the containers. The milk dispenser was empty an the coffee jug was not refilled. The few croissants were stale. There were only three other people present at breakfast so they were not overstretched.

Kingly accommodations at the Countryman.
A lovely old inn, upgraded and updated to offer all of the contemporary comforts one might want, including free WiFi /Internet. The room was medium size, with a queen /double bed and wonderfully illuminated bb its skylight. The bed and bed linens were outstanding; couldn’t be better. The pub & restaurant were as charmingly English as a Yank could want and the food was very good. I would return in a heartbeat, given the opportunity, and recommend it to any single or couple. It might be great for larger families, too; I simply don ’t know.

The hosts were lovely. The room was well appointed with a king size bed and it was clean. Would stay there again.

Good parking onsite. Excellent breakfasts and dinners….. try the homemade pasties if available, they are terrific. A nice little bar area with draft beer and comfortable lounge area. Good rooms that are very clean. The hosts David and Jacquie were outstanding, they helped in every way. I highly recommend this accommodation.

Overnight Stay
We Loved our stay at this wonderful inn....the staff were all super friendly and you could tell they Enjoyed working there...Dogs are welcome and it felt like everyone who entered brought one with them...Food was delicious even to the point that my wife claimed she had the best sweet for desert that she had ever tasted....Would definitely return..

Wanted to visit again after our great experience here in june 2023. Thought the roast couldn't get any better, absolutely delicious with very generous portions. Great welcome from Jackie and David and was so lovely to see them both again. Absolutely love visiting here. Thank you all

We had Sunday lunch here a couple of weeks ago, the restaurant is in such a lovely place and would be a great place to visit in the summer. Jackie and David were the perfect hosts. Chris the cook makes the perfect dinner. Looking forward to going back again very soon. We also met the beautiful Daisy ?? Five stars all round xx

Amazing place with nice hosts
The hotel is just marvellous.
A warm welcome and care by the hosts during the stay. Prime location between St. Ives snd Penzance.
Food is outstanding, especially the signature breakfast.
Rooms are amazing, with immaculate cleanliness and beds are comfortable.
