Wonderful guesthouse. Lovely bedrooms around a small pool with common room and honesty bar. Fabulous sea views with breakfast. Only 5 min uber from town centre. Allowed early check in at 12 which was great after overnight flight

Wir hatten Zimmer Nr.1 mit Terrasse und traumhaften Blick auf die Bucht,auch vom Bett aus. Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Den ganzen Tag gab es die M?glichkeit Kaffee oder Tee in der Küche bzw.dem Loungebreich zu machen. Die Angestellten des Hotels,sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Danke für die M?glichkeit des früheren Eincheckens und den tollen W?schewaschservice. Parkpl?tze vor dem Guesthouse vorhanden.Hout Bay und der Chapman's Peak sind schnell mit dem Auto erreichbar. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Delightful B&B close to Cape Town. Delicious breakfast with view overlooking Hout Bay. Bedroom was a bit small. Nice outdoor common seating area. Easy access to Cape Point via beautiful roads. Host Thomas gave us excellent suggestions for nearby places to visit.

Excellent service from friendly staff who prepared a variety of tasty breakfasts daily, the location is great as it overlooks the Hout Bay beach and is within easy walking distance.The rooms are serviced daily and are clean and well maintained.

Stunning views, lots of space to relax and enjoy the setting, Staff are super friendly and helpful. Super well located with easy access to beaches and the city.

This is a beautiful place to stay, fantastic location as it is only a few minutes downhill walk to the beach and a couple of restaurants. The room was beautiful, we had the one with a sea view and its own deck area. Breakfast is amazing - a special option made for you each morning. In addition there is a beauty room with great quality treatments. Tom was very helpful with suggestions for what to do each day.

I really enjoyed my stay in Hout & About Guest House! The staff were very welcoming, the room was bright, clean and well equipped. I particularly loved the location! The views from every corner were breathtaking- especially during the sunset. Breakfast 10 out of 10!

Room number 1 has the best view over Houtbaai and also a big terrace, we loved sitting there and enjoying the view. Airconditioning made tikking noise, but after complaint no follow up by owner.

We have visited South Africa once or twice a year for 25 years. There are some amazing places to stay. We know Hout bay well ; sadly the owner of the previous place we stayed has retired. On arrival no one answered the bell but fortunately another guest let us in. I found a member of staff out the back in the laundry area. He showed us to our rooms but did not help with bags: Note it is a fair few steps up from the car parking. Our room was fine ; a bit tired in places but had lovely views and chairs outside to sit in. The shower was an issue; as others have said, it took ages for the hot water to arrive and when it did the temperature fluctuated. The towels were small and of poor quality. Breakfast was good and the staff were helpful. We only saw the owner briefly who seemed in a rush to get back to his computer. Views are wonderful but the sun does go earlier on this side of the valley. The other couple we were with had a much smaller and darker room with no view near the pool which needs a bit of attention. A perfectly pleasant place to spend a couple of nights but we probably would not return.

It has to be said that we only stayed at Hout & About for 2 nights and generally didn’t spent a lot of time in the accommodation. However, the time we spent in the guest house was very nice and we felt we were in good hands. The service staff were friendly and courteous, the view was phenomenal and we loved the freshly prepared breakfast. Thomas was also super helpful and gave us a few tips for the surrounding area - thanks again for that! Our room was a bit small, but clean and the bed was very comfortable. All in all, we were satisfied and can definitely recommend the guest house for a short stopover.
