Village Up & Stay Architecture:
The Village Up& Stay advocates the concept of green sustainable ecological environmental protection. The building adopts the traditional method of ramming earth and solid wood. We furnish the building with as little formaldehyde, paint, and other quick-acting materials as possible. The design of the large two-way windows ensures natural ventilation in the room. No air conditioning is required in the summer. The room temperature is maintained between 18 to 24 degrees Celsius, which is healthy and environmentally friendly. In the winter, the wall heating system keeps the indoor temperature between 16 to 22 degrees Celsius. It’s radiation-free. We use the three-layer floor and ramming earth walls to make excellent sound insulation.

Bathroom: Dry and wet separation, smart, barrier-free toilet, 24-hour hot water.
Daily necessities: we advocate not using or using fewer disposable items! For example, we use natural handmade products for bathing and handwashing; We disinfect towels and slippers separately after each check-out.
Location: The Village Up& Stay is located in Shaping Village, Shaxi Town. It’s 2 kilometers from the ancient town, at the foot of the Sha Dengqing Grottoes area. There is a free bicycle(15 minutes) and shuttle bus (any time before 23:30 ) round-trip service if you want to check out the old town. It’s a 30-minute walk to the old town.
Meals: The B&B provides customized Chinese and Western breakfasts. We have homemade bread and jam. For our guests, there is also afternoon high tea!
As for lunch and dinner, our kitchen makes fresh and healthy home-cooked dishes(Chinese Style). We also make delicious Western-style dishes.
Room views and public areas: Each room has natural sceneries: distant mountains, fields, and villages. You can find a study room, fireplace, restaurant, courtyard, and free parking space in the public area.
Travel, services, and others: Free round-trip services within the Shaxi area by bicycle and shuttle bus. We have private guides available for outdoor, hiking, camping, and local natural travel experience. This means we are going to show you the off-the-beaten path in Shaxi and the whole Yunnan province.
B&B owner story:
I’m Dahua, Bai nationality, Shaxi local. I have the inn and guest house operating experience since 2007 (the earliest inn business in Shaxi) to the present day!
The first experience: Shaxi Laomaadian. I have been involved with this guest house from its beginning to the end. (10 years) It’s the first guest house awarded by Dali municipality as a four-star outstanding guest house. It’s ranked in the first three favored guest houses in Shaxi on TripAdvisor. It’s the first guest house in Shaxi which has a separate toilet and bathroom. The second experience: From 2017 to 2023, my wife and I ran our own guest house Shaxi Aoding Courtyard, which got the highest rating in the Shaxi area on Booking.com. Shaxi Aoding Courtyard was fortunate to be included in the "Oriental Museum Magazine Directory" in France at that time.
Guiding experience: I have more than ten years of outdoor and travel guide experience, always insisting on and deepening the outdoor, hiking, camping, local, and natural travel methods.
