Stayed in a lodge over looking golf course, the lodge was huge, with 2 big bedrooms with their own en-suite bathrooms. Lots of space in lounge and found it very clean. We have stayed in many lodges, and this one would rank in my top 10. The only thing that was missing was info about the lounge ( usually leave instructions etc, and whats around the area ) There is a restaurant and bar, also spa etc. The golf course was huge and golfers were playing on it even Christmas Day. We would definitely return

We stayed here for a weekend away in one of the lodges. When we arrived around 8pm on the Friday night, after an 8hour drive, we found the lodge unclean, a kettle that could not be used due to limescale, a mouldy shower and stained towels. We told the staff at reception who gave us a replacement kettle (that was still in a poor condition) but said they were only security staff and that any problems we had we would have to wait until the following morning to log our complaint with reception staff. This meant we spent our first night in a dirty lodge, with unclean towels, having to rewash all cutlery/crockery and not being able to make a cup of tea. We complained early the next morning and they replaced the kettle with a brand new one and did come to clean the lodge. After our stay we contacted Darwin Escapes requesting a refund for the Friday night as we felt we did not have appropriate facilities, especially for the money we had paid. They refused any type of refund to begin with. After a few back and forth emails, they eventually offered us a 10% refund, but this didn’t even cover that first night we felt like we lost. The site itself and the golf course is lovely and very picturesque. Staff were helpful and took our complaint seriously and did what they could to help. Disappointed with the aftermath. Would not return or recommend.

Stayed on hawthorn Lodge for a peaceful weekend Unfortunately unable yo sleep for the loud thudding music from the golf club bar till very late It is 11.30 on a sunday evening.g and they have turned the volume even higher I need another break to recover from this

I booked 4 nights here as a last minute deal, we stayed at the hawthorne lodge and it was very cheap given it was height of season. Well when I arrived, I was shocked the accommodation was amazing. The lodge was lovely, it was massive with 2 bedrooms, both en-suite, the living area and kitchen were also large with lovely furniture, the amenities, fridge, cooker etc were top quality. Added bonus was that it had free high speed internet and an even bigger bonus was the free EV charging on site. I would highly recommend this as a place to stay, if you want to explore oxford.

We recently organised a celebration for 95 family and friends and selected The Springs which proved to be an excellent choice. Dale, the Food and Beverage Manager, was always accessible, had many good ideas and worked hard to make sure everything came together on the day. The canapés and three course meal were excellent. The clubhouse was decorated tastefully and all staff were super efficient and extremely helpful. Many of our guests stayed at The Hotel and commented on how comfortable and reasonably priced the accommodation was. Whilst the ladies enjoyed the spa facilities, the gentlemen enjoyed a competitive game of golf. We would heartily recommend The Springs for any celebration event.

We stayed in a two bedroom lodge. It was extremely clean and well maintained. Great location with lovely walks. Definitely would stay again.

This was our second visit to a lodge and once again we were delighted. Lodges are very spacious and well equipped. There are some niggles such as the back of bathroom doors which could be cleaner and the windows were grubby… but these didn’t overly bother us. Other than that, they are super comfy with lovely towels, shampoo and handwash provided in the bathroom and a really handy little pack of washing up sponge, washing up liquid and tea towels in the kitchen. There is no problem with cooking a meal as there are plenty of pans/utensils (no egg cups though), a hairdryer is provided so no need to pack one, also an iron and ironing board plus a washing machine! Location is great for access to London and Oxford - we drove to Cholsey and got the train which was so simple. Our lodge overlooked the golf course and we enjoyed early mornings and evenings on the very spacious terrace. The on site restaurant and bar is fabulous and the staff are really amazing - they are helpful and great fun. We couldn’t fault them at all and are so grateful for their efforts to make our break really enjoyable. Reception staff also very helpful. We were there during the recent very hot spell so we did struggle to sleep - it would be really good if consideration could be given to perhaps some portable a/c as the fans supplied were not effective at all. We will definitely return and would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a lovely break away.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom lodge Friday to Monday. The lodge itself was nice. Spacious and clean. However opposite the 2 bedroom lodges are 1 bedroom lodge/hotel rooms which on the Saturday night were occupied by a large group of drunk young men and women who screamed, shouted and played music from 10pm until 4am Sunday morning. We complained to reception Sunday morning, who told us they had had multiple complaints from other guests and also that the police had been called in the night. We asked to check out instead of completing our stay. However we were reassured that these disruptive guests were checking out so we decided to stay. However, Sunday night brought more of the same. A large group of drunk rowdy golfers disrupted the night, standing outside drinking and shouting into the early hours of Monday morning. If you are after a peaceful weekend break I would look elsewhere. If you are a group of lads looking to get drunk and party all night this is the place for you.
