Nice comfortable hotel with wonderful view to the sea. Very friendly staff. The dinner could have been better to arrange as a buffet. sometimes it took much too long to get anything. The bar Crimson was nice, there Nalaka the bartender did good drinks. Generally it would have been nice if the staff could have been able to speak better english. Now there were many gaps in understanding.

Attentive staff. Friendly and helpful. Went all the way to get king coconuts for our group. Lovely and cosy Crimson bar.

The location is great for anyone who wants to de-stress, relax, swim in the sea or pool, walk on the beach, the breakfast and dinner buffet is good. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Nalaka at the Crimson bar is most helpful in meeting our request for King coconuts. At the Spa Daniella our masseuse gave a great hand and leg massage. We had a room with balcony facing the Indian Ocean where you can watch the sunset.

Just north of Galle located on a stunning beach front. The room was luxury. Staff service exceptional from check in to check out. Amenities great, pool refreshing, spa, bar and restaurant outstanding. The atmosphere is relaxed and perfect for a getaway.

This hotel is perfectly located between Galle and Colombo with a secluded beach front in a picturesque setting. Staff were attentive from check in to check out. The pool, spa, bar and restaurant are top shelf and adds bit of luxury to the stay. The Seaview room was brilliant for the sunset. It was also stylish and beach views could be seen even from the en suite. It is quiet from traffic noise making the atmosphere idyllic for relaxing poolside or beachside.

Very good service and nice staff. Tasty breakfasts and dinners for all tastes. Barmen Nalaka makes amazing cocktails and is very smiling. SPA massages from Achala were very relaxing. Good beach and sun beds are available for everyone.

Everything was great. Stuff was very kind and helpful with everything. The hotel was very clean with perfect view and great location. Stuff in Ccoffee bar was great,especially Nalaka, who made the best cocktails and the best fresh passion fruit juice in the world. Chef Somachandra will make the best tuna steak for you!

Food was nice but it would've been better if there was more variety. The chef was a very kind person. He even came to talk to us and made some modifications to the meals according to our taste.

We carefully selected our hotel in Sri Lanka and it was an excellent choice. Shinagawa hotel is perfectly placed on Balapytiya beach. Our room had a direct view overlooking the beach which is so beautiful and not at all crowded, the direct access from the hotel private grounds to the beach was literally seconds away. We had fun in the sea with the big waves. We really had a fantastic and relaxing stay over the Christmas and new year period having travelled extensively around Sri Lanka the week before, it was just what we needed, a calm and relaxing environment with wonderful service, food and endless smiles. Our room was spacious with the most amazing sea view. The service at the hotel was excellent we could not fault it. All the staff were very attentive and nothing was ever too much trouble. Special mention to the restaurant SALT and the chefs who delivered a personal touch by sometimes bringing our dinner to the table which was very nice. The Ala carte restaurant has a good selection of choices even for people with dietary requirements, I am gluten free. We particularly enjoyed the Christmas Eve gala dinner and the singer. I would definitely recommend ordering from the ala carte menu, it offered additional choices to the buffets and very reasonably priced. The restaurant staff and everyone worked so hard and the new year food choices for the buffet was overwhelming and expertly presented. The restaurant staff were great and the head chef was visible and clearly took great pride in his teams work. Our cheerful barman Nalaka served the best cocktails in Sri Lanka from Margaritas, Mojitos, to lemon grass iced tea, all were delicious and expertly crafted to perfect the most amazing cocktails with fresh herbs. We also enjoyed the cinnamon tea very much. The other team members were also good who served us but Nalaka has that edge, his experience definitely shone through, very polished and extremely polite and courteous. My husband and I said we would keep in touch. The whole team at Shinagawa are a credit to the hotel and work so so hard and so thank you everyone. The housekeeping standard was also very good and more or less everyday we returned to our room with the most amazing display of wildlife crafted with the towels, very clever indeed.If I haven't mentioned any one else then thank you too and the hotel management for our Sril Lankan gifts the elephant and mask are memories at home that keep me smiling . All the very best everyone.
