Esplendor Hotel Cervantes is one of the most iconic a unique and noble building in Montevideo with refined rooms of this historic Florentine-style building. When it first opened in 1927 in all its glory it was called Cervantes- nowadays it is called Esplendor Cervantes Hotel and yet they are one and the same. The traditional Cervantes Hotel is part of the citys list of historical buildings and was a witness to international writers like Jorge Luis Borges Adolfo Bioy Casares Emilio Oribe and Julio Cortazar.   • Guest user：I needed somewhere nice to stay for a quick visit to Montevideo- this hotel is in desperate need of renovation, the rooms themselves were clean but absolutely tiny- I could barely move around the room. Breakfast was decent and service was great, friendly staff. For the price, I think it is okay.
  • Guest user：A very good more upscale hotel in Montevideo. it's close to many transport options and breakfast was included as well. The rooms were alright; but nothing that wasn't working. The staff were super welcoming and warm, always attentive and smiling, especially at the front desk!
