What a stunning guest house this is! Absolutely beautiful grounds & suite. Lovely to sit in the hot tub & see zebra & springbok! Staff really friendly & excellent breakfast!

Fantastic boutique bnb on the garden route in Swellendam. Beautiful rooms, lovely pool and jacuzzi area umder the stars. Most amazing viewpoint to see resident zebra and springbok in the garden. Lovely staff.

Eine super sch?ne Anlage, man fühlt sich wie in einem kleinen Paradies. Das Personal war sehr nett und zuvorkommend, nachts wurde überraschend das Auto einfach so gewaschen. Das Frühstück war auch sehr lecker. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Wir waren eine Nacht auf der Durchreise hier und waren begeistert von der Gro?zügigkeit der Zimmer und der Gartenanlage mit Pool, Whirlpool und dem Blick auf die Springb?cke und das Zebra. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und lies keine Wünsche offen. Dazu kommt noch das freundliche Personal, das zu einem ?u?erst positiven Gesamteindruck führte.

Meravigliosa e romantica residenza storica, composta da più villette d’epoca coloniale olandese. Tetti di paglia, lussureggianti giardini all’inglese, una piscina all’aperto ed un’area recintata con zebre e springbok. Avevamo la suite Africa, ornata di oggetti etnici e con una deliziosa nicchia per stendersi o leggere. Bagno con vasca e con doccia, completo di tutti gli accessori (perfino i tampax e la Tachipirina). Letto comodissimo; frigobar ben rifornito e gratuito. Finestre a riquadri in legno bianco. Una pace assoluta ed una vista meravigliosa. Colazione raffinata, con self service e menù alla carta. Personale molto accogliente e disponibile a dare spiegazioni sulla dimora e sugli animali e gli alberi del giardino. Inoltre, al mattino ti trovi la macchina lavata. Prezzi molto buoni. Peccato essere rimasti solo una notte

Un très bel endroit avec un merveilleux jardin. Le personnel est très attentionné (notre voiture a même été lavée). Le petit déjeuner est parfait

Great location for an overnight on way to Garden Route from Capetown. Accommodations were superb and Gen Mngr was very helpful with dining and tourist site recommendations. Animals located in back of property were amazing and well worth the early morning stroll to view them - zebras and springboks )including a rare albino one) were plentiful and no game drive necessary. Easy to visit Bontebok National Park - a 5 minute drive to get a good overview of the incredible conservation effort to prevent its extinction. The room was very large with all the amenities and the included breakfast was exceptional.

We wanted a stopover on route back to Cape Town and took the opportunity to look around Swellendam and visit the nearby Bontebok NP. I selected Rothbury Manor as it was highly recommended on TA and chose the Suite Africa room, one of two rooms next to the pool and overlooking the magnificent gardens. Its a traditional Cape Dutch building, whitewashed walls, green windows, doors and other woodwork and the very traditional decorative central gable. The Suite Africa room is spacious with separate seating area, the bathroom includes and oversized bath and walk in shower, and the shower was great!!! almost as good as I have at home, Breakfast had a good selection to choose from and was perfectly cooked. First morning served outside on the tree covered patio, but last morning was a bit windy so we chose inside. The gardens are exceptional for a B&B, large extensive and well landscaped. It includes a large natural reed and lilly filled pond with nesting weavers plus various other birds grubbing around. The pond and its wet areas plus the many trees attracted Hadada Ibis including an overnight roost together with their early morning wakeup calls. Also at the end of the garden is a platform that overlooks a field that included Springbok and Zebra, find a B&B anywhere with Springbok. Finally, and so nice, was the old and now sadly dying out South African tradition of a complimentary car wash. Highly recommended.
