Cosy and comfortable country manor
Very cosy and spacious country manor turned into a hotel. Wonderful common areas to sit around and watch TV or read a book. The cook provided breakfast and the manager on site was very friendly and knowledgeable about the property’s history.

I stayed with friends at the lovely Casa do Governador which is around 3 kms from the centre of Evora & 500 metres from the Convent do Espinheiro. There are only 5 or 6 rooms but each is tastefully decorated and has a/c and fully fitted bathrooms. Downstairs there are a number of lounge rooms which are rustic and reflect local living and a shaded lounge area outside, this is set in 20 acres of land including a pool which we did not visit as we were to busy sightseeing. We would recommend.

We had a nice 3 night stay at Casa do Governador in a beautiful Junior Suit. The room was lovely. Everything was clean. it was also big and had a good amount of storage space for our things. The property is neat because they have a vineyard, and also you feel a bit like you are on a farm. There are two small pools. We were there in May, and it was warm out, but the two times we went to the pools, they were not very clean, so we just sat near them and read. One thing I found odd was that I would be on Instagram while there and see them posting about certain amenities, but never saw any sign of them. For example, I was by the pool one day and there were probably 3-4 other couples out there as well. I saw a post about bar service at the pool, but never saw any sign of that. There was a bar, but no drinks or service. I know it is not a huge deal, but access to the pools and advertised amenities was a huge deciding factor me when I booked this place. The location is great. It is very close to Evora, minutes away and an easy drive. The included breakfast was nice. Not a huge selection, but everything was good.
Casa do Governador is a centennial house with around 28 hectares in a ecological reserve area just 3 Km from the centre of Evora. We stayed in the main house although there is a villa also available on the east side of the property. Our room was spacious, light and airy. The bathroom was excellent with a spacious shower. There are 2 lovely swimming pools set in a grassy area on one side of the vineyard with plenty of sun beds available. Breakfast is excellent with fresh fruit and fresh fruit juice served large communal table. Eggs are offered and cooked to order. We ate dinner on a first night which was beautifully cooked and served. Staff are friendly, professional and helpful.
Tenuta immersa nella campagna vici o ad evora, struttura finemente arredata con un bellissimo spazio esterno dove riposare dal caldo di evora. Sono presenti due piscine. Colazione molto buona con prodotti locali freschi. Consiglio vivamente.
