Lovely quaint B&B. Friendly welcome on arrival. Quick to sort & pay for on street parking literally just around the corner (￡3 for 24 hours). John took the time to give us pointers of where to visit & pub’s & eateries they had experienced visiting. Had room 6 on the top floor. Big room with double bed, dressing table & tea & coffee facilities. Bathroom lovely with over the bath shower, toiletries & even bathrobes if needed. Breakfast needed to be ordered night before by filling in a form. Lovely full English with as much toast as you wanted & a pot of tea or coffee plus help yourself to fruit, yogurt & cereals. Could not fault anything here. Reminds me of a typical seaside guest house which was lovely. Location fantastic over the road up one street & you are in the town centre. Will be returning

Very warm welcome from John the owner very knowledgeable on the surrounding area which was helpful , great location we had room 5 very top hot at night unable to open the small window which needs checking for H&S issues , room is tired could do with a make over and new tap and shower head in the bathroom cracking breakfast so this made up for the issues with the room overall a good stay town is so pretty great restaurants and bars

Excellent B&B. Great location for the theatres, friendly and helpful landlady, very good breakfast, (landlady even provided vegan option), well-appointed and comfortable ensuite room, which inclded Wi-fi. I will definitely stay again.

Lovely comfortable stay at The Courtland Hotel. Everything you need for a stay in Stratford. Great location, hot drink facilities, comfortable bed, plenty of towels and toiletries. Very quiet - no noise from traffic or other guests. Friendly landlord and lovely breakfast cooked and ready for the time you book! Would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely two night stay-just what we needed. The landlord and his wife were very welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely breakfast options. The beds were extremely comfortable and the double glazing reduced the traffic although there wasn't too much of that despite being on an apparently main road, which goes silent in the middle of the night and not that noisy during the day. And I am sensitive to traffic noise! The location right in town was perfect with parking arranged in the adjacent street. We parked the cars and walked around town to our venues etc. Pretty traditional house. Excellent value for money. Thank you.

I booked this place on ***********. Having read the reviews, it sounded ideal. I am not sure who wrote the reviews, Shakespeare himself, maybe? They must be extremely old! We arrived approximately 30 minutes before our scheduled time and were told that the room was not ready. Fair enough! We purchased our parking tickets and were told to come back in about one hour. We came back in about 2 hours and were shown to our room, or should I say broom cupboard? There was not much room and it was so claustrophobic, that we had to open a window. OK, we had the usual complimentary tea, coffee etc; but the place was not the cleanest! A chandelier type light, above the bed was covered in cobwebs! I actually thought it was Halloween! On further inspection, I found that the wall lights, skirting boards and radiator in the bathroom were THICK with dust! This prompted me to look behind the bed...... YUK! I wish now, that I had taken photographs as other guests have done. The only saving grace were the breakfasts which were good, but I dread to think about the cleanliness of the kitchen! Also, the parking and location were ideal. The gentleman of the establishment was quite pleasant, but his wife, well, enough said!!

Given 5 out of 5 as we loved location ,traditional homely feel of b and b ,hosts were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was very good too. Not understanding previous review of abrupt and rude landlady as we found her great to talk too ,on arrival at 11am I pulled up whilst wife nipped in to get parking ticket which costs 3 pound ,this allows you to park right next to hotel on quiet side street and informed us that they already had our room ready so we could check in early which was a bonus ,in fact during our stay she was very complimentary to us and personally I like people who are "straight John bull" and say what they mean . This isn't a 5 star hotel and at price we paid we didn't expect it our room (room 6 ) had very comfy bed was quiet had powerful shower ,decor and fittings are matched for period of house ,yes certain areas could do with lick of paint but I would not hesitate to recommend this property to someone visiting for a 2 or 3 night stay to Stratford ,parking is next to hotel and all amenities are within 10 min walk Inc station which on check in John gave us a map and took time and trouble to mark places and pubs etc worth a visit ,our favourites were the Coach house and the Keys for live entertainment fri/sat night ,The Garrick ,The Windmill and The White Swan for a drink and Rose and Crown if you want sports , In short I would rather stop at Courtlands than a premier inn which is similar pricing particularly if on first visit to Stratford and don't want to pay 5 star prices ,thanks again to our host for a great stay and this was first time on a 2 night stay in traditional type hotel that we have had bed made up and room tidied after first day.
