The 2nd level units are about a 100 ft (10 stories) hike up...it is exhausting. They charge $2/day for a beach towel. They add chlorine tablets into the pool skimmer...not a good practice. However, the rooms are fine for the price and the grounds are tropical.

This property is large and beautiful! Well taken care of! The pool is wonderful too! Great place to stay with the family or as a couple. Only note is if you stay in a villa, request one a few up the hill. Unless you are there for the party and to stay up late. The music sounds great, just goes late.

A side trip to Santa Teresa was a last-minute decision and after quickly scanning the options I chose the Esencia Hotel and Villas. I am happy I did. This property is located closer to the end of the strip. The rooms are clean comfortable. The grounds are expertly landscaped and beautiful. A wonderfully refreshing pool area is available. I stayed two nights, but as the original plan was only one night, I stayed in a room at the top of the hill, while the second night I stayed in a villa. Both were charming. Unfortunately it seems this platform will allow you to upload pictures but not videos. The only drawback to staying in a room at the top of the hill is that I was not able to drive as close to the room as I might like. So if you have a fair amount of luggage, be aware that you will have to carry it 50 yards or so. With the villa I was able to park right in front. The front desk staff was very helpful. There was easy access to the beach. And numerous dining options, a short walk away. The villa that I stayed in had a separator between the king size bed, and the twin beds, thus offering privacy. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely stay here again. For videos of the room, feel free to check out my Instagram, “robs_travel_report”.

Beautiful stay at Esencia! We had a wonderful stay at Esencia! The staff were so friendly and helpful. The grounds and pool were beautiful, well kept and clean. The rooms are set back from the main road so it was very quiet and we enjoyed listening to and seeing birds and monkeys from our balcony! Great location as well-directly across the street from the main surf break and next door to an excellent restaurant, Somos.

La propreté de la salle de bain laissait à désirer. (moisissures dans les coins, scellant autour de la toilette noirci, eau chaude inconstante...) Endroit avec beaucoup de potentiel, mais besoin de rénovations majeures. Nous considérons que nous avons payé trop cher pour ce que nous avons eu. L'espace piscine était bien, mais la piscine n'était pas propre et eau brouillée.

Viaje en pareja y amigos Es la segunda vez que me hospedó acá y lo recomiendo, tienen habitaciones espaciosas, limpias. La piscina la mantienen limpia y el personal es muy amable. Esta muy cerca de la playa (pueden ir caminando) y hay restaurantes cerca. Lo único que cambiaría es colocar cortinas Blackout ya que durante la ma?ana entra mucha luz.

Hotel bien ubicado y limpio...el unico pero es el acceso hasta las habitaciones ,gran cuesta de piedras por la que tienes que ir con las maletas y luego escaleras....y si te tica como a mi segunda planta,mas escaleras aun. Si tienes problemas fisicos o de salud no es tu hotel...por lo demas todo genial
