Excellent hotel - made our weekend! Warm, comfortable and clean bedroom and bathroom, which has plenty of storage and was well stocked with hairdryer and hot drink making facilities with plenty of different types of hot drinks and biscuits. The staff were all very warm and friendly at all times. Swimming pool and jacuzzi was a big bonus. Breakfast was brilliant - lots of choice on the buffet and a big menu of freshly cooked breakfast options. Pub area was, like the rest of the hotel, warm and welcoming. The location was brilliant. We will definitely be back and will definitely recommend to our family and friends.

We've stayed at the Royal Lion before and nothing much has really changed which is actually a positive. Our room was very clean and the amenities were very good but the window in the indulgence room we had did not close fully and left a draught and let quite a lot of noise in from the street although the location is excellent which is what you are really paying for. The breakfast is also excellent but our evening meal was quite average in quality.

Internet good., staff is very nice, the bar downstairs is nice and handy for a drink, bed comfortable and pillows., shower Very good, heating nice and adjustable. We had supper once in the restaurant, it was good but I wasn't impressed. No face towel here (or flannel). We asked. Bring your own, just bath towels. Parking: good if you come with a little car , in Nov. and not Friday or Saturday night. Not enough place, hard to turn around, super small! Must be terrible in high season. I would forget it.

Hotel and staff first class. Breakfast superb and the pool was just perfect. A trully memorable experience and we will be back, thank you !

Staff were extremely polite, helpful and friendly, room was great and clean, breakfast very good and we loved the pool facility too. Only downside was the fire alarm going off at 7am on our first morning but that was dealt with very professionally.

Lovely old pub with quaint rooms our was a bit dated but that’s what we expected. Service was great and breakfast included was terrific. Pretty good value for money,

Breakfast staff very good and breakfast itself also good although the coffee always went cold! Room was comfortable and spacious though the shower could be stronger. Overall, a nice stay.

Very close to the beach and shops. Parking is tight but manageable. Staff friendly.
Good variety for breakfast, but ask if you like eggs runny as they are well overcooked.
