Very disappointing experience. First, the place is rundown, and the whole yard and exterior seems unkept. The rooms are at the end of the yard, windows overlooking a fence. The main photo (with the view) is of their cafe , not the rooms building. The room was very COLD , and they gave me an old radiator (which I put next to my bed because it wasn’t powerful). No other source of heating (in winter…). The place was empty , so I assume they gave me their best room, which was appalling - see photos of walls and ceiling. The staff was just ok. The extra stars are for their pets. Bad location too - very few eating options in the area. I very much regret choosing this place , it wasn’t even the cheapest , I paid more hoping I would get a nice stay, but I should’ve gone for the better and cheaper options available.
This is a gem in North China. The location is perfect- walking distance from the international ski resort and about an hour's drive from several locations of interest on the Great Wall. It was really peaceful and clean. NO SMELL OF SMOKE which is a rarity in China. Owners are really kind and hospitable. Dogs are too ;) Can highly recommend. Only downside is that can be a bit limited in the immediate area. However there are still options.
