While the property is in a well-situated area (not in the main city centre, but close) & the man who met us to do check-in was kind & hospitable, there were a few things to mention for people who are considering staying here.
First - the WIFI was absolutely terrible - I usually don't care about this but it was so bad that we had to go to a coffee shop to check into our flights when leaving. Yet, Maxim's sister hotel, Suite 135 had great wifi and was literally one floor below us in the same building.
There was one day where the housekeeper did not come to our room - we left the room later that day (11am) but still shocked seeing as we stayed in another hotel in Barcelona and still got tidied/towels.
There was no concierge ever at Maxim (not sure if its on the listing but the man who texted me the day before to do our check-in mentioned it) which if you are a solo traveller can feel eerie as we never saw anyone else in the B&B. If that doesn't bug you, then it's fine. Be sure you got somewhere to put the keys (purse or pockets) for the main door and your room as they are big. If your priority is a cheap place to stay and you don't care for that stuff, you'll be fine - just don't bring big luggages with you as Maxim is on the 7th floor & the elevator is very tight even with 2 people and 2 carry on luggages.
I would not return here, but it is clean and in a decent area if thats your main priority. ******* should send someone to review it and update the listing.
This is a very honest review. First and formost the gentleman who runs the place is outstanding, he is a great communicator and helped us find the hotel & provide clear details on checkout. Now the room/stay. This is not a 4star b&b. Room & Safe run on a physical key(ring with 3keys) which you are responsible for and require at all times to get into your room+building+safe(dont lose it!) They say that they have highspeed wiFi however it does not work - we went 4 days without wifi in the hotel(works for 2min) then drops for 30mins & sometimes doesnt connect at all!!!(6th floor) apprently the 5th floor works. The shower is small with hand held shower head (shampoo/body gel) bottle which was half empty on arrival- and shower leaks out due to crack in seal of shower door. Hair dryer doesnt work at all & ventilation looks rusty/moldy oh & you have to place a seal over the drain when you finish showering or it will smell. Bed was comfy + pillows were as well. Tv was not smart and was not 50” as advertised more like 30” but worked all non english channels. They say free breakfast but there isnt any & you get ONE small bottle of water when you arrive. Additionally, There was no receptionist ever at our front door. A/C worked vey well & hotel neighbourhood was safe and located well.
Il B&B si trova in una posizione strategica per visitare Palermo e le sue bellezze, dista circa 30’ a piedi dalla stazione centrale e circa 15’ dal porto. Il piccolo appartamento è al sesto piano di uno stabile che ospita diverse strutture ricettive. Dotato di un piccolo soggiorno cucina, un letto matrimoniale e un bagno contenuto ma dotato di ogni confort, la colazione non era inclusa nel prezzo, il proprietario ci ha accolto con gentilezza e professionalità dandoci anche consigli sulla città. Qualche miglioria (mancanza dei comodini, la doccia gocciolava) da effettuarsi per essere impeccabili.

A great location with incredibly friendly staff. The communication was great and they made sure they were prepared for our arrival and had everything we needed. The rooms were clean and comfortable, ideal when you’re spending days walking around the city.
Great location and close to the action in Palermo. 10 minutes walk to Politemea where you pick up the bus to the Airport. Hektor was an excellent host and very welcoming. We were pleasantly surprised about the kitchen and fridge in the studio.
