We visited Margate Sands during the first week of April 2025. Staff support was excellent. The unit itself, unacceptable. The air-conditioning system was broken. The stove plates were not working. The noise levels after 11 p.m. uncontrollably and loud. Won't be back.
EXCELLENT SERVICE AND FACILITIES AT MARGATE SANDS. We hosted an educational /Team building workshop for 60 delegates. Resort Manager Mr Gomo was very accommodating, empathetic and professional in handling all our needs. Special mention of Ms Abigail who serviced us beyond her call of duty. Margate sands resort is truly amazing. I booked 3 units, so a big family attended so I was a little stressed out, but at the end it was the best ever holiday with my family. And all thanks, due to Margate Sands staff accommodating my needs with no complaining. From the GM Leonard who exceeded my expectation and personal attention to detail is remarkable – Thank you Sir. All staff, to name a few that I remember (Was in high spirits), Charles, Silindile, Porters, Cleaners, Abigail (A true asset to Margate Sands- Know her for over ten years-awesome in entertaining), Monica, pool, and braai gents, ever so helpful. Continue with the Freddy dance, nice touch and the serving of Hot Drinks and Muffin at the pool area is very relaxing. The resort/outside is very clean and well maintained. My family also gave excellent feedback. Keep it up and I will continue comming.
Best Bean bunny Margate, Ramsgate, Shelly Beach. Everywhere. Visiting folks in Margate for a month or 2. Used to Durban bunny chow and the big names there like Hollywood bunny bar, Britannia, Cane cutters. Tried a few places here on the South Coast but nothing satisfied.That is untill I found Resh's... I have been living on bean curry's for the last 8 years. If a restaurant can do a bean curry right you know they know what they are doing. Authentic Durban flavours! A match for the big boys any day! Their curries are the best, but there's a variety of dishes on the menu. Follow them on Facebook for daily updates. Tried all the rest, here on the South Coast, Resh's is the best. They have WhatsApp delivery or available on uber... Cater for meat lovers, vegetarians and vegans alike. A must try if you're on holiday!
A good family apartment
Helpful friendly service, although this property is probably quite old maybe 20yrs old it has been maintained very well, linen of a high standard and comfortable tv dst channels work well and free wi-fi works well. Would recommend for a family holiday.

Margate Sands was a great little break for me and the family to getaway for the weekend. From the booking process with Pearl and the check-in with reception everyone was so helpful and went the extra mile to make our stay fabulous. Our room was neat, clean and beautiful, we really enjoyed the the sea view and swimming pool on site. Will definitely be back in the future.
On arrival i was not pleased with the position of my apartment as i am used to a few apartments which I always book. Although it was fully booked, Slindile immediately after hearing my conversation took me to 2 apartments to choose from. I was very impressed with it. Resolved in about 10 minutes. Excellent service.
